INTRODUCTION
What ABC4All Mentor/PanAmbassador Keith Pecot http://profiles.takingitglobal.org/KeithPecot
achieved in Uganda can happen anywhere in the world between and among ABC4All Mentors.

From recent ABC4All Mentor Conferences:

"Every community including yours is part of this global community - to make a difference in the world."

"Working for a Better World... Together!"

We are grateful for the following summary of well planned and executed visit in Uganda by Keith and all his associates.

Respectfully,

Burton Danet, Ph.D.

SUMMARY FROM KEITH:

This was my first trip to Africa, specifically Uganda. I had an amazing time and the experience has left me with many emotions. One, which is speechless. I am left with an overwhelming sense of  gratitude for the blessings in my life, including having the opportunity to be with my brothers and sisters so far away, yet we are so much alike. Though many in Uganda lack basics that I take for granted, such as, clean water and electricity at the flip of a switch. I was welcomed with love and gratitude from everyone I came in contact with. There was such joy in the faces of the children and a sense of optimism from the teenagers and young adults. Here in Florida our lives are in such havoc when we get a hurricane and lose power for a few days. We can't bear not having our air conditioning, TV/electronics, and most every thing we want at our fingertips.

I joined with a team of 15 men and women from across the US to go to Uganda to complete a water project that we raised the monies to fund. The people in the local villages, including a school and an orphanage, would have to walk about 1 mile to get water. We supplied and installed the pumps, filtration, piping, water tanks and 6 taps spread strategically throughout the surrounding villages and school, providing clean drinking water to 10,000 men, women, and children. Also, we visited the children at several schools/orphanages and a babies home for orphaned infants and toddlers. We were blessed to give various items from classroom supplies to diapers and baby blankets including a sizable amount of cash to each location.

I had the pleasure of being introduced by ABC4All to a couple of young men in Uganda, Saidi Semakula and Fred Kayiwa, prior to leaving and after initial conversations via email we were able to connect during my stay in Kampala. Both of these young men have overcome great difficulties and hardships and are now men of vision for change in their country. I am thankful for the chance to spend time talking and just being with them. It was great to see my fellow team members from the US getting to know them as well.

I look forward to the opportunity to return to Uganda with a greater vision and  passion for bringing hope and improving the quality of life for all. I am currently working with another individual to set up an organization to continue both in Africa and around the world where there are similar needs.

Thank you to ABC4All and your affiliates for the many projects you have underway and for your assistance in connecting people to make a difference in communities around the world.

Love and gratitude,
Keith

"People from all over the planet are joining together...to share in the same mission. Dear Friends,
lt is good to hear that you visited Uganda though l didn't get a chance of meeting you.

l hope next time, God willing.

You must have learnt a lot of things from your visit, and maybe you can compare with your country. We shall be in touch for many years to come.
-- Zimbe Moses

Hello Zimbe Moses,

You are saying exactly what we are working towards. Obviously all of us cannot be in one place, but as possible where there can be direct contact as in Keith's visit to Uganda such takes place. More is planned for the future, and to say, "We shall be in touch for many years to come" is really so well stated. This is how we are and will become a "connected community" (Local Heroes) and even if there is not actual physical encounter within a location, the sprit of what we all wish to accomplish in the world can and will go forward. http://localheroes.cc

In short, there is nothing stopping the world from becoming a better place for all who will be receptive - it is up to us to raise our voices in the symbolic shout proposed by Erick Ochieng Otieno (in his example about water) which applies to all the ways the world CAN and MUST and WILL become a better place in which to live. No government. No bank. Just people - us - working together to help make communities better for all.

This movement reflects UNITY across DIVERSITY and, through opportunities like Keith was able to experience, we learn so much.

Keith tells us:
"I am left with an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the blessings in my life, including having the opportunity to be with my brothers and sisters so far away, yet we are so much alike."

UNITY across Diversity.

"I look forward to the opportunity to return to Uganda with a greater vision and passion for bringing hope and improving the quality of life for all."

Keith's statement can represent the potential for ANY of us to visit ANY ABC4All Location in the world and work together to achieve EXACTLY what he describes, "...bringing hope and improving the quality of life for all."

Where personal visits are NOT possible, the "Connected Community" will work effectively to bring that same HOPE to all who care. http://abc4all.net/ftdth.htm

Burt

What a nice experience to share!, we will be looking forward to such a visit in Nigeria here and i can bet you will have a better experience to share
Thank you. --Taiwo Adewole

Hi there,

Thanks for your kind words.

Each such experience, Taiwo Adewole, will be different from another - each can be "great!"

It seems likely that those who are proud of their country may consider such an experience as "better," understandably so. The main point, of course, is that such experiences can occur by any ABC4All Mentor visiting another country. Such a good way to help us unite as one!

Cordially,
Burt

Dear Burt,
When i mean"great experince" i am talking about Keith taking his time to come all the way from U.S down to africa, i believe he has a first hand experience, with what they have been able to see physically on ground

We who are starting ABC4All here in Nigeria are working towards great things ahead, I have been appointed the Interim head for the Nigeria team and we have been doing great undeground work to make sure things are done legally and perfectly

Thank you
Adewole Taiwo
What your initiative represents is so great, Adewole Taiwo.

I have often referred to the example of your group taking the initiative and not waiting for the model to be in place for the local websites.

This is nearing completion, but will not be released until all info is accurate and technical issues can be resolved (blackouts).

I actually contacted a web designer in Nigeria to see if they might help us, but no response so far. If any in your group have such ability, please let us know.

As all volunteers, we are not yet able to create the best professional websites, but the one that is the model is going to be incredibly clear and easy to navigate. Bottom line that is what is most important, but you can give us feedback on that later.

In the meantime, please express our appreciation and thanks for what your group is doing.

Cordially,
Burt

That can only and always be heard from a true visionary. Keith is and will always be.
I loved the time we were with him in Uganda, short though it was and I love ABC4All for the connections it is making. This is great and may it continue.
