Welcome to ABC4All: "2007: A NEW ERA for the World!"

INTRODUCTION

The following dialogue / email exchange regarding the issue of polluted water in Uganda has taken place among the following indivduals:

ABC4All Mentor Fred Kiyawa, Uganda;
ABC4All Mentor/PanAmbassador Keith Pecot, USA;
ABC4All Friend Anisha Moore, USA; and
ABC4All Co-Founder Burton Danet, USA

This Dialogue illustrates a problem that exists throughout the world, includiong so-called developed countries like USA where, for example, we learn that homeless people are bathing/drinking the same polluted river water in a community in the State of Colorado. Thus the urgency of the need to work on and SOLVE this problem cannot be emphasized sufficiently. In short there is a need for MANDATED ACTION NOW!

HI all
its fred according to the servey made in mubende district by RURAL HEALTH CARE FOUNDATION 80percent of the population drink unsafe water from ponds where they share with their animals. This is one of the major factors affecting water related illnesses wchich increaser death rate in mubende district especially young children and pregant water sources.

People walk long distances away from their home stead to access clean safe water,therefore there is a need to assist the community so as to protect and construct their water sources  such need is like constrcting ashallow water  I have attached photos of water ponds and poor water in the attachment for you to see   Great opportunity once again  to write to the ABC4ALL
MENTORS

Hi everyone!
I do not know of any simple or inexpensive means of purifying the water for a village.  Most people in the villages do boil the water and we bought bottled water, as Anisha has said. While we were in Kampala, Uganda we focused on a water project that included  filtration system, pumps to get it up the hill and holding tanks that supplied 6 taps serving about 10,000 people.  But this was at a cost of about $40-50,000.

Fred, there is tremendous need in your country for water, housing, medical care, education, etc.  What I am saying is it is not a simple fix and all of these things may not happen immediately.  However, don't lose heart but keep a hope and seek to be a part of the solution in finding ways to better your community and those around you.

I am currently in beginning stages of forming a NGO with several individuals to do these types of projects.  My heart breaks for all my brothers and sisters around the world that face these basic struggles for sustaining life.  I am excited and have great hope in the difference we will all make as we give to each other creating environments that sustain and promote life.

In love,
Keith
