A PRAYER FOR UNITY AND PEACE
Dear Yakubi Aliyu:
I will join you and I will
pray that the light of peace will
shine brighter each day.
In the sunlight, shining brightly above
our universe lies the warmth of God’s
many graces and He reminds us of
gifts that He has given us all.
Sunlight, which God made available
for all of His children and a
sign that we are one people under His
domain, indivisible and each one of
us a part of the “Human Race”.
May we pray for equality for
all nations and all people’s.
May we pray for an awakening in
order to stir the deep emotions
within people in positions of power.
May it lighten their hearts and
within them instill great compassion for others.
May this compassion take root
and grow tall and may the branches
of compassion spread to all of those
who are willing to affct lasting
change. May these leaders begin
to seek out what is similar between
the cultures they are entrusted and
may they choose dialogue befre destruction
and chaos.
May the tremendous wealth, now
distributed to so few become the
source of energy to end all human
suffering and may we all have the
chance to live and tosee our children
grow with dignity, with love and in
joy. May God Speed befall the ones
most oppressed and most in need of
help.
As Martin Luther King was a hero
to so many of his time let us
all kneel down on this day and
every day to pray his leadership ill
inspire greatness that lies in all of
us. May his legacy be a symbol
to all nations of the many blessings
that peacetime offer a world in great
need of healing. Let peacetime dwell
in our hearts, let peacetime be
shared with the ones that we love and
hold most dear.
May God bless us. May God
bring us peace.

King Day I responded to an
e‐mail I received from a gentleman
in Africa who wanted us to pray
for peace.
Yakubi is part of a mentors group
that I participate in as well as
170 others in several countries on
every continent. Recently we held the
first of its kind global conference
where several members from all around
the world spent an hour on thephone
and on the internet in real‐time,
sharing ideas and providing an opportunity
to collaborate on resources and in
thinking differently about issues that
affect th quality of life and
circumstances that we all find ourselves
in. The meeting set forth an
agenda and initiated a conversation that
will be continued.
