MEMORIAL DAY

PRAYER FOR PEACE

On this Memorial Day weekend may we all pray for the thousands of families who have lost loved ones in the war in Iraq and Afghanistan and for the over 100,000 Iraqi families who have also suffered the death of a brother, a sister, a father, a mother, a close relative or friend. 

May God's love shine the light of compassion to all of our leaders and people who are in positions of power and may wisdom overwhelm their minds to seek justice and equality for each person they are elected to serve.

May our leaders dismiss anger and fear and may distain give way to clarity and the will power to open sincere dialogue with nations of different cultures and beliefs.

May these leaders soon find a pathway to peace in Iraq and Afghanistan, in Africa and in India and wherever there is war and conflict. May dignity and security be restored to all communities of the world.

May all families, especially to those living in the most desperate regions of the world, have greater access to health and prosperity. May all people learn to live side by side in harmony while watching their children grow up through the filters of their love and the joy in their hearts. 

May God and the Angels touch the spirit in all those who would do harm to innocent life and may the hatred and evil that festers be cast out to the end of the universe and beyond and may this destructive energy never return or be in our presence again. 

May all people of this generation bear witness to the end of all extremism and radial behavior. May this ideology never use religion to justify killing or other violent acts in the name of Almighty God.  May there be forgiveness available to those who choose to use their free will to turn away from sin and the clutches of evil. May their lives be devoted to spreading a message of hope and of change to other people with similar afflictions.

May God Speed be upon us and may God Bless us all.
