BRIEF HISTORY

Women and children are the most affected people in any given disasters, be it man made or natural. During the Civil Crisis of the first cease fire in Liberia, which affected almost every Liberian" for which am no exception, Women were seen as media of sex in the name of food for the survival of their children.

Children were abandoning by parents due to the lack of food and shelter. Mothers were been force into sex trade for the support of the young ones.  Love and passion for humanity led me in organizing a plan to meet the needs of these less fortunate women and abandoned children.
We began by soliciting through a project dubbed “Food for Work". Food gathered from the work is distributed among the people. Through this many that were subjected to object poverty through war were given hope.

Expansion: the program was extended into empowering skills training for women and academic for the children. Through volunteers and good will people materials were made available for the construction of hostels for the women and children.

Ever since 1990, to present the operation has affected positively the lives of many women and children across the sub Sahara regions include: Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Togo, Guinea, and Ghana were women are exported for sexual trade.

Quietly recently, about three years ago now the Agricultural sector has been added for the sustainability of the project. We now do poetry farming, Crops farming, and now contemplating on Rubber farming in Liberia. We are trusting in God that this will meet and transform lives.

BUDUBURAM REFUGEE CAMP, ACCRA GHANA, WEST AFRICA

BACKGROUND OF THE BUDUBURAM REFUGEE SETTLEMENT
Buduburam Refugee Camp is One hundred and forty four (144) acres of stretched land inhabited by approximately 45.000 Liberian refugees" who fled the civil carnage which started in December 24 1989. The land is enclosed by private ownership thus making it impossible to farm or carry out any economic activity on available land for self-sustainability.

Considering the huge number of refugees settled on such a small land, this congestion would means that the people are susceptible to hardship as they partake in little or no economic activity with respect to working the land; they are liable to the contraction of contagious diseases, especially so where public toilets are situated in the midst of clouted houses, inadequate drainages, irregular sewage disposal and a fewer garbage containers ( over half of the people use the nearby bushes to defecate). Such poor sanitary conditions pose a very serious threat to the health of the people. Mosquitoes are numerous and malaria is common places. There is a single Clinic" that cater for all of these people. Drugs are basically being supplied by the UNHCR, the UN agency that is solely responsible for these refugees and the nearby Apam Catholic Hospital located in the nearby District of Apam in the Central Region of Ghana. Of course drugs and others services are paid for, when they according to the policy of the UNHCR should be free of charge.

About 90per cent of the population are Jobless. The remaining of the 10per cent are laborers, teachers and others own small businesses. These people came to exile with other skills, basically farming, while some have others skills but find it very much difficult to be employed because of their different nationality and their locations which is a good distance away from the Capital and other industrious towns is a disadvantage.

Of course internally the people (refugees) are not united. This situation stemmed from the Civil Conflict and has made the population even more tribalism’s, an act considered a means to shield themselves from those consider their enemies.

INTRODUCTION:

December 4. 2004 the dream for helping the under- privilege women and children to discover their hidden talents and skills to become better future leaders was conceived by my wife and I here in Ghana. After several years as refugees strange situation issued on May 28. 2006, which permitted us to begin a Bible study class to enable children particularly refugees and others to be drawn to God as their Lord. This however succeeded but the struggle to (Economy Hardship) interrupted said study and children went away all because they started stretching out their arms to finding food for their own survival. The situation affects the children directly and indirectly in many ways.

However, cooping with these awful situations, as donor’s Nations in the World faces a great depression/breakdown in the economic systems to be specific financial crisis. The U.S” been one of the biggest Donors is caught in a recessions that are possible effecting the World leading economy Countries directly or indirectly and many companies operating globally are termed to be going bankrupt and over thousands of workers have lost their jobs because of this while it undetermined that others are yet to be loosing theirs as soon. This is a clear indication and understanding that anyone can possibly imagine and crave to as necessary. If there is a possibility to ensure a bailout into the economic systems let in is now in this 2009.

It’s true that the World leading Countries are facing these disasters, but many poorer Nations are said to be in their worse of it economy diverge. However, there is a saying” whether good or bad life must go on. It is an honor most respectfully to reciprocate as a member of the youth coalition and Director of the Africa’s Women And Children Assistance Foundation (AWCAF) organization, to console by way of giving my virtues or input for which I stands to undertake this Project. Believing it is one of means for which poverty eradication and global financial reductions could be cut down.

Target group: the World at large most especially poorer Nations

Extension to the privilege people most especially vulnerable women and children from all sorts of (War, Natural Disasters and Economy Hardship) nations as poverty is a living hell.

Global economics should be looking at some of these problems linking that could easily cause a serous drained out situations for things to get worse before getting better. Understanding global economy crisis is a focus of the World and concern to everyone today we have to take a step forward to minimizing some of these problems.

OBJECTIVES:

It is my understanding and fervent hope to help in the feeding process if giving the necessary equipments and financial backing to embark on this project.

The objective of this organization shall be as follows:

Beneficiaries: To help feed Poorer Nations of the World at large from Liberia and extension
To educate to become substantiate future producers
To enable Liberia to produce sustainable food and packaging as well as other essential commodities by rising employees talents
To build school to enhance their learning capacity
To built School and use one of the building room as Internet café to equip them to use computer for re-search purpose.
To expose them to agricultural technology
To equip them vocationally.

Believing the world poverty eradication and financial reduction causes could be cut down one way at another; poorer nations will continue to look forward and continue begging for helping assistances from leading Nations in the world.

There are different purposes and means for which this project will likely be managed:

Remember, AWCAF is a non-political organization but humanitarian in nature which is purposely formed to educate vulnerable children secularly, religiously as well as vocationally.  She will educate and further train people to use their given talents to produce or become useful leaders of tomorrow as Liberia, Africa and the rest of others nations in the World are no exceptions.

1.  Crops:  all kinds of crops growing will be grown in Liberia as preparations for massive productions will be undertaken as examination will be properly conducted to the fit of meeting international standard.

2.  Animal Raring:  all kinds of flesh eating animals will be rare in specific areas in Liberia as farm animals will be treated medically with massive productions of preparations will be undertaken as properly conducted to the fit of meeting international standard for exportations.

It’s the time that the World biggest donor’s Countries consider trusting the understanding of the underestimated such as NGO’s, CBO’s and others organizations specialize in particular areas to help in alleviating causes that could possibly damage the world global economy.

Strategy: AWCAF has adopted the system of developing the minds of people most especially women and children by educating them to know God as their Lord. She shall also include secular education in her program to enable the people to complete their vocational skills training and other school educations.

Moreover, AWCAF will also train children technically to make them useful citizens of inter-states of the World. AWCAF will monitor the activities of every one and conduct counseling services as contact to international partners. She shall also organize extramural activities to permit workers proof their God’s giving talents.

Past Achievement: For the past years AWCAF succeeded in conducting bible study classes for 300 women, and 400 children, and fed the identical number of children Camp. It is our hope to do more as we set to receiving the assistances needed particularly Liberia where this project will be carries out.

Problems: During the period of operation AWCAF has identified the following:
Lack of education for many most especially women, orphans and disadvantage children as impediment to their future
Lack of inadequate food for orphans and disadvantage children. This has been the cause of pre-mature death among the children of the world today’s.
Lack of medical care-this also affected more children and adults alike in the area, thus causing death of both children and adults.

AWCAF feels when these problems are adequately addressed; the growth of the people of the World most especially up standard of the women and children will be important and indeed will become useful citizens.

Evaluation: AWCAF project will be monitored periodically by project officer and other staff who will make sub-sequent report to the Executive Director for an onward transmission to the Donors.

 LAND NEEDED:

Agricultural as consider the productions of crops and the raising of farm animals to provide goods, drugs and services. However, the deal to have a (1500-Acres) three hundred acres of stretched farmland in Liberia is one of the best and non-regrettable investments anyone can highly and possibly imagine.

There will be no cause of worries or regret.  An outcome of massive productions from the fertile soils could lead to a greater portion of the world feeding reproach today and could possibly cut down some of the World biggest donor nation’s irrelevant expenditures by minimization.
