SMELLIN' SALTS
Is your energy low?  Want to give your body a boost 1,000 times more powerful than one of those energy drinks?  Try this exercise.
When you wake up in the morning, say the following before you get out of bed: "Today, I am a kind person.  I will look for at least 5 people to do kind acts for."   During your day, go out of your way in looking for kind acts to do for others.  I promise, you will not have to look very hard.  Here are a few suggestions: 1) Say "I love you Mom" (or Dad) for no apparent reason, 2) Lend a hand to a neighbor doing yard work, 3) Send someone a positive eCard, 4) Call a family member or friend you haven't talk to in a long time just to tell them that you are thinking of them, 5) Volunteer your time at a community center or shelter, or 6) Adopt a pet from a no-kill animal shelter.
It really doesn't matter what you do, just do something.  When  you give from  your heart, your energy will be revived and you will see the true beauty in doing kind deeds for others.

Dear Burton,
Bill King CaricatureWelcome to this month's edition of The STINK Tank.  For the next few months, I have decided to alternate sending out The STINK Tank and Positive Pathways.  Due to the number of new subscribers, I want to give everyone a taste of both of the newsletters.
Since the Kindness Challenge was issued for the month of June, I wanted to cover being Kind again to reinforce the challenge message. The definition of Kind: Of a friendly, generous, or warm-hearted nature.  Showing sympathy or understanding; charitable; humane; considerate; tolerant; generous; and agreeable.
For me, kindness is a not just a choice, it is a way of life.  In everything I do, I try my best to do kind acts for others.  I also take the necessary time to treat myself with kindness.  When I started living in this mode, I have been able to experience unbelievable abundance.  Although the kindness I prefer is anonymous, I still practice this daily.  From answering the phone by giving a positive compliment to complimenting a complete stranger.
I believe that there are more kind people than unkind.  I believe the world is filled with incredible people that do kind acts for others.  Just read the SWEET SCENTS story below to learn about two men doing anonymous kind acts.  In researching kind stories for the month, I found several amazing stories.  One of them was about a London man who donated nearly 1/2 billion pounds (or approx. $1 billion US) to a third world charity.  He isn't even a billionaire any longer because his net worth is approximately $250 million.  What an unbelievable kind thing to do for our planet.
Even though we did not hit our goal of 5,000 kind acts for the month, we did accomplish over 2,100 kind acts logged.  That is a MAJOR accomplishment in and of itself.  This month, let's set our goal to log 5,000 kind acts by the end of the month.  This means we will need to log another 2,900 kind acts.  Get started today and share the SA-WEET SMELLS of kindness to everyone you know.
May your day be filled with SWEET SCENTS of success, kindness, and joy!

Michael is an amazing guy!  He has dedicated his life to doing kind acts for others.  Go to his
Kindness Center to find out about his current projects.  Michael recently made a 3,500 Miles of Kindness trip from LA to his home in Maine.  I was fortunate enough to interview Michael and learn a little more about his work.
CLICK HERE to listen to my interview with Michael.  This is one interview you do not want to miss.
Michael, thank you for all you do and thank you for taking time to be interviewed this month.

Toilet Paper Unwinds & Rewinds

AP 6/2/08: The STINK of the Month this month goes to Jason Akins of Hugo, MN.
Jason unfortunately had to deal with a tornado that hit his town in late in May.  He noticed several bizarre things happened in his ripped up home.  One of those things was a toilet paper roll in his bathroom completely unwounded, draped over the counter, then mysteriously rewinded in the bathroom sink.  And to make it even more bizarre, not a single sheet on the roll was torn!
To read about this and other strange oddities from the Hugo, MN tornado, CLICK HERE to read the full story.
If you have a story for STINK of the month, send it to us and it may make in the next newsletter.

Kindness in giving creates love."

Thank you all for logging your kind acts this month.  You never know just how one small kind act will have a ripple effect that reaches well beyond your immediate surroundings.  I ask that you plan on doing kind deeds every day in July then log them on the meter.  We are going to hit 5,000 kind acts, and just imagine the positive energy this is creating.  May July be your best month ever.

Peace, gratitude, and kindness,
